In Belize, day-care facilities are licensed by the Inspector of Social Services Institutions under the Families and Children Act, with licences renewed every two years. The conditions focus on police records, references and background checks; no explicit first-aid or CPR requirement for staff was found, so there is no strict statutory mandate. The expected standard of a well-run nursery, all the same, is caregivers who are trained to act when a child is hurt or suddenly falls ill.

Belize's day-care licensing has no anaphylaxis or epinephrine framework, and adrenaline auto-injectors are prescription-only and are not stocked in childcare facilities. Where a child is at risk, the reliable path is the family's own prescription — kept on site with written parental consent, clear instructions and safe, accessible storage so it is ready the moment it is needed.
